/ Extension of the accounting moratorium: how does it affect insolvency proceedings?

/ Extensive growth and macroeconomic duality in Spain: imbalances and low productivity

Institute of Economic Studies (IEE)
December 2025
The studies published by the Institute of Economic Studies (IEE) are always highly recommended. On this occasion, the report analyses the macroeconomic situation in 2025, a year marked by strong global growth dynamics, and offers a set of forecasts for the year we have just begun.
In the case of the Spanish economy, the report points to robust growth of 2.9% in the past year, although signs of deceleration are already emerging. At the same time, Spain faces a number of structural challenges, including low productivity—3.6% below 2019 levels—a decline in investment in capital goods, and a high tax burden, among other factors.
