Newsletter 202 BNFIX PICH
People, principles, services
May 2025
Dear friends,
Temperatures are slowly rising and we are now in the month of May. And for yet another month we invite you to read the newsletter, which we start by reflecting on the phenomenon of absenteeism, a growing phenomenon that companies must manage correctly, both in economic and organisational terms; in this regard, we take advantage of the reflection to recall the latest developments in the field of paid leave.
Next, we talk about financial markets with David Gassó, founding partner of Anchor Capital Advisors EAF, and we also address, among other issues, the changes in the tourist tax and in the regulation affecting large property holders, the tax calendar for the second half of the year, the effects, in the labour sphere, of the general blackout on 28 April and the calendar of public holidays in Catalonia for 2026.
Some publications that we believe are of interest and various collaborations and events in our agenda complete the publication.

Highlights
/ Absenteeism, an uncomfortable reality to manage
Absenteeism is a growing phenomenon in our country that has a direct impact on productivity, business organisation, the working environment and the economic sustainability of companies.
Leaving aside cases of absenteeism due to illness or accident, which should be dealt with through prevention and healthy habits, and those in which absence from work is not justified, and therefore require a disciplinary approach, we explain in the following circular the extension of some of the leaves contemplated in article 37 of the Workers’ Statute, as well as the new leaves approved in recent years and which companies increasingly have to manage.
