Dear all,
We are ready for our 20th Annual Meeting, which will take place next thursday 5th and friday 6th October, and this year is hosted by our office in Barcelona. In this edition, we have focused our attention on three fundamental pillars: “People, principles and services“. These principles guide everything we do, and we have put together a programme with prominent speakers who, together with professionals from the BNFIX Global network, will explore topics of great relevance and topicality, both for our professionals and for the general public.
All sessions will be broadcast live from room A at the building of Foment del Treball Nacional through the BNFIX YouTube channel, so that you can share your queries and impressions with speakers and professionals.
In this extra” newsletter, we inform you also about the requirements to separate or divorce before a notary, the new business obligations regarding sustainability reporting, some changes related to car taxation and the remuneration registers.

/ Separations and divorces before a notary: what requirements must be met?
As well as getting married, it has also been possible for some time now to separate or divorce before a notary. However, in order to do so, applicants must meet a number of requirements, which are explained in the following circular.
/ New obligations and opportunities for sustainability reporting
The growing number of international sustainability commitments and the adoption of new sustainability regulations are increasing the obligations of companies in the field of sustainability reporting. These obligations are also an opportunity to demonstrate a company’s competitiveness and its social and environmental commitment.
/ Changes to the locomotion “allowance” and the “mixed” use of vehicles
Coinciding with the publication, in July, of the update of the “allowances” for travel expenses exempt from taxation, we review in the following circular some concepts and frequent doubts on the subject. We also review other questions on the mixed use of vehicles assigned to workers, which are the subject of a note from the Tax Agency.
/ Wage records: transparency and progress towards gender equality in business
For some time now, companies have been obliged to keep a record of the average salaries, salary supplements and non-wage payments of their staff, with a breakdown by gender, in order to ensure that equal pay is effective and real in Spain. We review the basic features of these registers in a circular.
/ CO2 tax payment until 20 November
La Agència Tributària de Catalunya (ATC) ha publicado este septiembre el padrón definitivo correspondiente al ejercicio 2022 de todos los vehículos que tributan por el impuesto sobre las emisiones de CO2. El plazo para el pago del impuesto acaba el próximo 20 de noviembre.

/ DFK UKI Conference 2023, October 4-6 in Birmingham
The economist and tax expert Alba Pich will attend, on behalf of BNFIX, the DFK UKI Annual and Emerging Leaders Conference 2023, to be held from 4 to 6 October in the British city of Birmingham.
In addition to conferences and discussion spaces for members of the international network of independent law firms DFK, of which we are part, the meeting will include a welcome reception, social activities and a gala ball. The meeting is a great opportunity to meet and network with the heads of other firms in the network, to share experiences, concerns and challenges, and to learn about other practices and ways of working.

The General Council of Economists (CGE) presents the fourth edition, updated, of the ‘Guide to company action in the face of insolvency‘.
It provides information on the latest procedures available to companies to avoid or minimise the effects of insolvency, which will be discussed at a conference organised on 10 October at Foment del Treball, with the participation of our partner Valentín Pich as president of the CGE.
/ XIX Entrepreneurs Awards
Once again this year, Entrepreneur magazine organizes the Entrepreneurs Awards ceremony, which is already a classic in the business world, due to its trajectory and the category of the awarded companies.
The following categories are available: on the one hand, the \’Best Business Idea Award\’, for projects that have not yet become a company. And, for companies already in operation, the \’Award for Talent to the Entrepreneur with Disability\’, organized by the ONCE Foundation and Inserta Empleo and with the support of the European Social Fund; the \’Award for Business Innovation in the Agri-Food Sector\’, in collaboration with the Cajamar Cooperative Group, and the \’Award for the Most Innovative Professional Firm\’, sponsored by ProDespachos.
Our president Valentín Pich will participate as a member of the jury team in the selection of the most innovative law firm.
