October 2026
Dear readers,
The countdown is now on for the BNFIX Meeting which, on 22 and 23 October, will bring together in Sitges the professionals from the 9 BNFIX offices across the country: a meeting to which friends, clients and partners are also invited, as part of our sessions will be “open”, that is, you will be able to attend live via streaming. That is why today we are sharing, first of all, the full programme of the event. Take a look; we are sure that one of the talks will appeal to you.
And after “talking shop”, we share advice for dealing with the damage that companies, self-employed professionals and individuals may have suffered as a result of the torrential rains of recent weeks. We also report, among many other topics, on the latest news on the information that must be included in employment contracts, the postponement of the Verifactu regulation, and the regulations on anti-money laundering and packaging recovery…
To the legal news and changes we must add the usual Agenda and Publications sections. As always, we hope you find the reading useful and practical.

/ Tax, employment and legal news
Employment contracts, more detailed since 5 October
The new information obligations for companies on the essential elements of the employment relationship came into force on 5 October. They apply to all contracts of more than 4 weeks and must be included in the contract itself or in a supplementary document.
Posted workers: information obligations increase
Among the new information obligations that companies must provide to employees about their employment relationship, there are some specific to employees temporarily posted abroad.
Heavy rain: advice for dealing with its effects
The heavy rains that fell in Catalonia over recent weeks have caused material damage, supply interruptions, transport disruptions and cancellations of services and activities, among other effects. In such situations, it is important to take action as soon as possible to preserve the rights of those affected and to obtain the compensation to which they are entitled.
Anti-money laundering rules: news on the appointment of representatives
On 28 October the rule comes into force whereby companies and professionals hitherto exempt (due to number of employees and turnover) will have to notify their representative to the Executive Service of the Commission for the Prevention of Money Laundering and Monetary Offences (SEPBLAC). The newly obliged entities will have nine months to appoint and formally notify said representative.
Postponement of Verifactu and e-invoicing: where do we stand?
On 5 October the Ministry of Finance confirmed a second postponement of the entry into force of Verifactu: the new date will be 6 October 2028 for both companies and professionals. The aim of the postponement is to align Verifactu with the implementation of e-invoicing, which will come into force on that date.
Legal and employment obligations: how to work among very diverse rules
Beyond the traditional employment and Social Security obligations, the continuous approval of new obligations, many of them significant because of the penalties that non-compliance may entail, has led us to update a document in which we set out those we consider most significant.
Insolvency proceedings: the Supreme Court accepts the use of ICO loans to cancel previous debts
A recent ruling of the Supreme Court (TS) confirms that not every use of ICO financing to meet pre-existing financial debt can automatically be considered detrimental to the assets of an insolvency estate. It thus reaffirms our view on the need to analyse each transaction and its circumstances.
Deposit, Refund and Return System (SDDR): how will it affect companies and consumers?
The implementation in Spain of the Deposit, Refund and Return System (SDDR), scheduled for November, will bring new obligations for producers, distributors and retail outlets that we should all be aware of, both affected companies and consumers.
/ ‘Personalised Welcome Pack’ for an optimal “debut” for the employee in the company
Plan Today to Ensure Continuity Tomorrow

he arrival of a new employee at a company is usually a shock both for the employee and for the company, given the huge volume of information, data and queries exchanged during the first weeks. Organising the onboarding in an orderly way, pacing the instructions and customs of the new environment, making the new professional feel supported and, at the same time, leaving nothing unsaid is a balancing act that is not always easy to achieve.
That is why the Employment Area of BNFIX PICH, always attentive to the needs of its clients, has launched the Personalised Welcome Pack, a welcome guide to convey in an orderly and consistent way all the information the employee needs to know, strengthening internal communication and making their contact with the company easier from day one, at such an important moment in their career.
This guide, tailored to each organisation and each position, may contain, among other things, the following:
- Presentation of the company, its activity, values and corporate culture.
- Organisational structure and key contacts.
- Internal rules, instructions and work procedures.
- Company protocols and policies.
- Benefits and perks offered to staff.
- Practical information to ease the arrival of new hires.
- Other information the company considers relevant.
If your company is interested in this new service, please do not hesitate to contact Sara Bueno, of the Employment Area, by writing to sara.bueno@pich.bnfix.com

/ DFK UKI Annual & Emerging Leader Conference 2026
Coinciding with the 30th anniversary of DFK UK & Ireland, our colleagues at DFK International wanted to celebrate it by hosting the large family of DFK professionals in Liverpool, from 15 to 18 September, during the Annual & Emerging Leaders Conference. And without thinking twice, we went, represented by Alba Pich, on behalf of BNFIX Global and eager to learn and share experiences.
Among other topics, the meeting discussed the impact of Artificial Intelligence on the profession, growth and scalability strategies for firms, the evolution of advisory models, talent retention and good practices and successes worth sharing. There was also time for leisure and to see some emblematic places in the city where the legendary band The Beatles was born.
DFK International is currently the third-largest association of consulting firms in the world, with 204 member firms (including BNFIX) and 442 offices in 84 countries, 1,477 partners and around 15,750 professionals.

/ We are taking part in the Global Connect Leadership Academy of DFK International and MSI Global Alliance
The economist Alba Pich is taking part, on behalf of BNFIX Global, in the Global Connect Leadership Academy, a project promoted by DFK International y MSI Global Alliance, two of the leading international organisations of professional firms.
The initiative began a few days ago and consists of organising a series of small working groups designed for leaders or future partners of firms, in which challenges and issues affecting companies are shared. These are monthly one-hour sessions that begin with a general presentation that is then discussed in groups. As Alba Pich explains, the aim of this academy is to “create a closer bond with other leaders in order to move towards more direct and close dealings with other firms”.
Undoubtedly, with this participation we reinforce BNFIX Pich’s commitment to excellence, internationalisation and the development of professional relationships within the global networks of which we are part. Alba Pich’s presence in this programme will allow us to further strengthen ties with professionals from all countries and to contribute to the exchange of experiences and good practices that shape the future of our profession.
At BNFIX Pich we believe that involvement in international forums and programmes is key to anticipating market changes, generating new collaboration opportunities and continuing to offer our clients a global vision together with the closeness and local knowledge that characterise us.

/ Economic Outlook Report. From resilience to productivity: the challenge of sustaining growth in a more demanding environment’
The Catalan economy maintains a solid growth rate, higher than that of the eurozone, but this dynamism must be used to strengthen the foundations of long-term competitiveness. More productive investment, higher productivity, infrastructure, talent, innovation and a regulatory and tax environment that favours business activity are the priorities put forward by the employers’ organisation. This is one of the conclusions of the Economic Outlook Report of September from Foment del Treball.

Report by the Renewable Fuels Platform pointing out, among other things, that differentiated taxation for renewable fuels, recognising the emissions reductions of these energies, would align our rules with the recommendations of the reports by Mario Draghi and Enrico Letta, with the proposed reform of the Energy Taxation Directive and with most of our European partners.
